The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and downtown Princeton is packed with shoppers, students, and townspeople. This charming, quaint town is a hotspot for PDS students to congregate with friends. Downtown Princeton has a variety of places to hang out with friends, especially during the spring when the weather is nice. PDS students have some great places to relax with friends during the spring.
Sophomore Zain Hamdia enjoys spending time in the Princeton Public Library, where he can “study and hangout with friends.” Hamdia mentioned that the many floors of the building offer a variety of places to study. The building is very large and provides quiet study rooms for students, as well as larger conference rooms for group sessions.
Junior Luke Nolte shared this opinion, noting that he too studies there often. Nolte also added that Heinz Plaza, the outdoor area adjacent to the library, is a common hangout spot for upper school students while the weather is nice. Nolte stated , “This location is easy to find so meeting up is simple.” Surrounding the plaza are various restaurants and shops, including Kristine’s and Witherspoon Grill.
Just a few storefronts up Witherspoon Street is Upper School Math Teacher Ms. Cooper’s favorite restaurant, Agricola Eatery, where the food and the ambience are very pleasant. Many students enjoy spending time with their friends and family in the various restaurants in downtown Princeton. Sophomore Aiden Wu enjoys MTea and its “very flavorful” Asian cuisine, along with its large selection of tea. “It’s a budget-friendly place to dine with friends in the heart of Princeton.”
Downtown Princeton is a pleasant, bustling place to dine and hang out with friends. From the green of Palmer Square to the stunning architecture of the university campus, there is a place in Princeton for everyone.
