At PDS, the Fitness Center, managed by Eric Schnepf, serves as a cornerstone of our school community, where students come together and work on themselves. Open to all students and student athletes who want to get their workout in, the Fitness Center provides access to weights, machines, coaching, and a positive environment.
Cameron Kelemen, a freshman at PDS, says, “I love the equipment there. It’s my favorite part about the Fitness Center because I can work out safely there.” Mr. Schnepf, the Fitness Center coach, is always active in his role of keeping the Fitness Center at its best. “It’s well kept and clean. Students can come in and accomplish what they want, while having fun and being social,” he notes.
Improvements are constantly being added. Recent updates include more space for the weights, new safety measures, and upgraded machines to help students with their experience. Some may find it challenging and daunting to make time or go as a beginner, but the PDS Fitness Center is extremely flexible and has a great and friendly environment.
Students agree, with Cy Cooper, a sophomore at PDS, stating that “It’s nice how available it is, I don’t have to mold my schedule to it and can go whenever. Everyone is also really kind there, and it’s nice to see familiar faces.”
Overall, our Fitness Center goes beyond expectations, with many exercises, machines, and weights for all to use. The safety efforts maintained by Mr. Schnepf and athletes alike, inspire students to keep up the effort and productivity. It’s a place to go at any time, and anyone can come and begin their journey of exercising. It’s a true environment of friendly competition, strong work ethic, and an all around excellent place to work out.
